Barbara Straughan has been buying and selling antiques since 1990. At the same time she started collecting, she and her husband were buying and selling real estate. The first house they bought and sold didn’t sell fast enough because the house was empty. Barbara staged the next house utilizing her 3 antique malls to furnish the homes with all the amenities and creatures comforts. It appeared as though the house was occupied.
A full price offer was submitted the first day the house was on the market! Even though there were tent cards displayed throughout the house with the words, “’Dressed to Sell By Design’ turning vacant houses into model homes!”, the Realtor asked “How soon could the owners move?”. The buyer didn’t have to worry because an Estate Sale would soon move all the contents of the home!
Soon, Madame PackRat’s Estate Sales was born and Barbara held her first Estate Sale. It was a huge success and she made a profit.
Barbara and Teri Hensley, who have been friends and associates for many years, shared a passion for serving seniors and wanted to make a difference in their lives. They wanted careers dedicated to working for seniors. After careful research and interviews with seniors and their families, they determined the single most overwhelming event for a senior was relocation. It was too much for them to deal with and few knew where to start.
Teri and Barbara knew if they could alleviate the emotional stress of making a move by streamlining the process.
That became the perfect solution!
The answer was clear… If a client could call one number to coordinate the entire relocation process, including the sale of their home and the disposition of their personal property the benefit to the senior would be immeasurable.
